Who We Are
CIAG, Inc. (Central Illinois Accounting Group) opened its doors on July 1, 2016 in Petersburg, IL. It is owned and operated by Randy Atwater who has been a CPA since 1997. Randy has practiced in public accounting offices from Springfield to Havana for the past 20 years. He also has the help of several other staff who have accounting and tax experience.
About the Owner
Randy lives with his wife and two children in Petersburg, IL. They are active in their church, 4-H club, school band, sports, and other community events. Taking care of family and finances are important to Randy. Therefore, he enjoys helping others take care of their financial needs and questions so they too can care for their families and businesses.
Meet the Team
Randy Atwater
Randy began his career as a CPA in 1997. Randy has practiced in public accounting offices from Springfield to Havana for the past 20 years. He also has the help of several part-time staff who, too, have past accounting and tax experience.
Julie Atwater
Julie, wife to Randy, is also a CPA and helps assist in the office on an as-needed basis. Although she does not prepare tax returns, she is highly experienced in other areas of accounting.
Sam Wenda
Sam joined our team in June 2021. He is a 2017 graduate of PORTA High School and a 2021 graduate of Illinois College with a Bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting. He works full-time and has plans in his future to sit for the CPA exam.
Sophie Atterberry
Sophie joined our team in July 2022. She is a 2016 graduate of PORTA High school and a 2020 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. She has a great attention to detail and is quickly developing a strong analysis of the numbers.
